Walter Deemer's Joke Of The Month -- April, 2006

The Smothers Brothers recently did a show in our area. After they did a bit on how recent Presidents would have handled the George Washington cherry tree incident (Washington: "I cannot tell a lie"; Nixon would have lied, Clinton would have said "That was no cherry tree" and Dubya doesn't know what a cherry tree is), the following ensued:

Tommy Smothers: "I don't want to leave anyone with hurt feelings. Are there any Republicans out there?"

[Some Applause]

Tommy: "Don't you read the newspapers?"

The 1995 Joke Of The Year

(Sorry, folks; we haven't heard anything that even comes close to these two classics lately...)

Heard a REALLY good one lately? Send it to us at walter@walterdeemer.com; maybe you'll get our next "Joke of the Month" award!
