Walter Deemer's Joke Of The Month -- September, 2003

FORT PIERCE - A repeat traffic offender on trial Tuesday for losing his license not only lost his case, but was arrested immediately afterward for driving to court the same day.

James Junior Toney, 59, of Orlando, was arrested on a driving with a suspended license habitual offender charge moments after a jury found him guilty of the same charge. Toney, originally charged in January, drove to the first day of his trial on Monday even though his license remained suspended.

"I think the total disrespect he showed the law is what pissed me off," said Clyde Killer, the assistant state attorney who prosecuted Toney. "This is just the kind of person that irritates the heck out of you."
