Walter Deemer's Joke Of The Month -- September, 2008

We've tuned in to the Amos 'n' Andy show. The Kingfish is afraid that Andy is about to rat on him in an appearance before a judge.

"Hey there, Andy -- don't you know the code of the underworld; nobody tells on nobody."

"That right, Kingfish?"

"That's right -- and I hope that if you tell the judge what I done you won't end up like O'Toole."

"What happened to O'Toole?"

"Oh, he ratted on his pals, and they was waitin' for him right outside the courthouse; opened up on him as soon as he left. With sub-machine guns. Left more holes in him than a piccolo."

"Really?"

"That's right; the wind was blowing the day they buried him, and when they played 'Amazing Grace' O'Toole whistled right along with them."

(And I don't care if that isn't P. C. any more; that was a funny, funny show!)
